"One of my proudest moments is when I've been able to be a lifeline to clients during some of the most challenging times in their lives. When an unfortunate life event happens to a person who always handled the finances and other family members suddenly have to take on that responsibility, it can be a daunting task, especially during a time of grief. Being the one they trust to guide them through is a humbling and rewarding experience."
Professional Summary
While responsible for the overall management and direction of The Edwards Group team, Rob is equally passionate about helping clients get through challenging times. As a Senior Private Investment Management (PIM®) Portfolio Manager he guides the security analysis, portfolio construction, and risk management for The Edwards Group’s portfolio strategies.
Rob began his career in late 2008, during the depths of the Global Financial Crisis, which impressed upon him the most important skills a financial advisor can bring to client relationships, beyond investment expertise: the ability to listen, to empathize, and tomake a lasting impact on the people and causes that clients care most about while being ever-mindful of risk. Rob has a particular interest in guiding investor behavior, and the paramount role that it plays in helping to manage the planning complexities of his clients’ financial lives.
Rob earned an MBA, with a concentration in Investment Management, from the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza School of Business, and a BS in Finance from Florida State University. He holds FINRA Series 7, 63, and 66 registrations, and is a member of the Financial Planning Association®.
